Icons of Industry

Anwar Maqsood is a renowned and celebrated scriptwriter, television host, satirist, humorist, and actor. He is well known for his artists write ups for Pakistan Television Corporation in the late 1970s and where he also served as presenter for a variety of shows including Studio Dhai and Studio Paunayteen along with Show Sha and a many others. He has written TV shows Fifty Fifty, Show Time, Silver Jubilee Show and Loose Talk, alongside the series Aangan Terha, Talaash, Sitara Aur Mehrunnisa, Nadan Nadia, Aisa Bhi Hota Hai, Colony 52, Majoo Mian, Koi Aur Hai and Hum Pe Jo Guzarti Hai, teleplays Half Plate and Fanooni Latifey and theatre plays Pawney 14 August, Sawa 14 August, Anwar Maqsood ka Dharna and Siachen. He is also the lyricist for Nestlé Nido Young Stars. Anwar Maqsood has been awarded the prestigious Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Lifetime Achievement Honour at 4th Pakistan Media Awards.
Ghazanfar Ali has been in television since the mid-sixties when he worked with PTV. In 2000, he launched Indus Vision, the country’s first independent satellite channel. As such, he’s garnered the label of ‘pioneer.’ The man behind Indus Entertainment, Ghazanfar Ali is also the pioneer of private productions. Behind the success story of the new independent news channel was also the creative mind of none other than Ghazanfar Ali. Today, following in his footsteps are a bevy of new television tycoons who have made it big. He launched Indus Music and later MTV Pakistan, which was able to secure its place as a leader in music television on the Pakistani scene. At 1st Indus Drama Awards, his TV series Mera Naam Hai Mohabbat, Bheegi Palkain and Karachi Law were nominated for Best TV Series.


Zhalay Sarhadi is a well-known Pakistani actress, VJ and model. She has appeared in magazines like Libaas, walked in several fashion shows, hosted the reality show Shaadi Online on Geo TV and has acted in different TV serials.

Humayun Saeed is a renowned film and TV actor and producer, who has starred in blockbusters Mein Hoon Shahid Afridi, Bin Roye, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, Actor In Law and Yalghaar and won the Lux Style Awards, ARY Film Awards and HUM Style Awards.

Khalid Malik is a transformational coach and entertainer. He has worked in the serials Chand pay Dastak, Woh Chaar, Khandaan-e-Shughlia and Uraan, and as a VJ at MTV, in production at Dawn News, theatre plays and his claim to fame, ‘The Breakfast Show’ on City FM 89.

Yasra Rizvi is a playwright, actress and director. She has worked in theatre plays Hasan Kuza Gar, Goongi Joru, Can't Pay, Won't Pay, Roshni Ka Safar, Sail-e-Rewan, and Extra, TV serials Mi Raqsam, Virasat, Mann Ke Moti, Shaadi Mubarak and films: Manto, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani and Senti Aur Mental.

Zahid Ahmed is a Pakistani actor & former RJ. He has worked in plays Sawa 14 August, Pawnay 14 August, Bombay Dreams, Half Plate & Phantom Of The Opera, TV series Mehram, Jugnoo, Tum Mere Paas Raho, Sangat, Zara Yaad Kar, Besharam & Mor Mahal. He has won the Hum TV Award for Best Villain & had a nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Zahid Ahmed - Face of Television

Jehan Ara is the president of the largest tech association in Pakistan: PASHA, runs a Google-funded incubation space TheNest i/o, and is an outspoken advocate for cyber freedom. She has come to be synonymous with developments in startups, technology, and entrepreneurship. Ara is a social activist and a strong propagator of extending the power and use of technologies, to empower and enable communities.
